The (unofficial) 2024 Course Preview Run is Sunday!

Want to preview the 2024 Raleigh (Holiday) Half Marathon course with the Sir Walter team? This is your chance. ~6 weeks out from race day, we’ll have a group run, starting at the starting line, near Gateway Plaza Raleigh, at 8am.

It’s an out and back course, so run as much (or as little as you want). This event is free to attend, and you don’t have to be racing on 12/7/24 to join us, although we prefer it! RSVP on Facebook here

Unfortunately, the work on the Crabtree Creek Trail has not been completed, but if you want to run, we will still put a Water/Gatorade station around 2.5 miles from start and finish at the end of the Crabtree Creek Trail at Milburnie Road. If you go all the way, there will be a water fountain and bathrooms at Anderson Point Park (about 7 miles in).

What to be aware of…

2×4’s covering the trail right after you get onto the Crabtree Creek Trail
That one spot that is ALWAYS muddy about 1/4 mile onto the Crabtree Creek Trail

2×4’s on the greenway right before you veer to the left towards Lockwood Park

Afterwards, feel free to pick up breakfast at Union Special (order ahead to have ready when you finish) and possibly Mordecai Beverage Company a little later!

Course Map is here: https://raleighhalfmarathon.com/course/

**Please don’t park in front of Union Special or any business that is open that morning. Park in back of parking lot!

  1. Thanks for the pics! It’s great knowing that running that way is possible. I was imagining some type of crater like at Umstead.
