Public Service Announcement: Raleigh Holiday Half Marathon returns to the Crabtree Creek Greenway on Saturday, December 3

November 4, 2022 – On Saturday, December 3, the Raleigh Holiday Half Marathon returns to the Capital Area Greenway System on the Crabtree Creek Greenway, with the same course as 2020 and 2021. The race will start at 8:00am by Gateway Plaza, and will run to Anderson Point Park (and back).

Crabtree Boulevard (and the stoplight at the Raleigh Boulevard intersection) will be blocked from approximately 7:50am to 8:10am, as runners enter the greenway from the road. The race cutoff will be 11:30am and miles 0-6 of the Crabtree Creek Trail will be heavily trafficked at the time. No roads will be blocked after 8:10am, as the race will finish at the end of the greenway, close to the Raleigh Boulevard / Crabtree Boulevard intersection.

The 4th year race has a maximum capacity of 750 runners competing.

The USATF sanctioned event features a certified course that was measured by Clockwork Race Timing, who will also provide timing. The event will serve as the USATF and RRCA North Carolina State Championship. The Top 3 Male and Female finishers will receive prize money. RRCA will also crown Grand Masters (50+) and Senior Grand Masters (60+) Champions.

All finishers will receive medals, and the first 75 Men and the first 75 Women will receive 2021 Raleigh Holiday Half Marathon Coffee Mugs. A $250 bonus will be available for event records. Current event records are held by James Wilson (1:06:38) and Sarah Rapp (1:15:02).

There will be multiple aid stations that will offer water and Gatorade Endurance Formula, hosted by Raleigh Distance Project and Crunch Fitness. Early packet pickup will be held Thursday, December 1st from 5-7pm at Runologie / Pine State Coffee and Friday, December 2nd from 4:30-6:30pm at Mordecai Beverage Company. Race Day (Saturday, December 3rd) packet pickup will be available from 6:30-7:30am at Raleigh Founded.
