New Year, New Raleigh Half Marathon

Yes, it’s back. And we’re excited. The inaugural 2019 event was a big undertaking, and for the most part, things went well. A few things could be improved and we have done everything in our power to get those things right for year two.

What are those things?

  • Parking – 750 spots, courtesy of the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina. While we still encourage carpooling, public transportation and rideshare, we won’t have to rely on shuttles this year.
  • Course – While we love the Neuse River Greenway and Buffaloe Road Athletic Park, there are some unpredictable things on the old course, namely flooding potential. The new course lessens that liability.
  • Date – A late February date should ensure cooler temps. Last year was unseasonably humid, and we want to make sure that doesn’t come into play in 2020.
  • Access Points – Getting to aid stations will be much easier this year, which will prevent any potential hydration issues, should heat be a problem.
  • Post Race – Gateway Plaza will be this years headquarters, which is a short walk from the start and the finish!
  • Swag – We’ll have Women’s cut shirts this year!

We hope you’ll take the ride with us! If you have questions or concerns, contact us!
