Public Service Announcement: Raleigh Holiday Half Marathon returns to the Crabtree Creek Greenway on Saturday, December 4 November 6, 2021 – On Saturday, December 4, the Raleigh Holiday Half Marathon returns to the Capital Area Greenway System on the Crabtree Creek Greenway, with the same course as the 2020 event. The race will start at 8:00am by Gateway Plaza, and will run to Anderson Point Park (and back). Crabtree Boulevard (and the stoplight at the Raleigh Boulevard intersection) will be blocked from approximately 7:50am to 8:10am, as runners enter the greenway from the road. Course Preview – 2021 Raleigh (Holiday) Half Marathon

Want to preview the 2021 Raleigh (Holiday) Half Marathon course with the Sir Walter team? This is your chance. 6 weeks out from race day, we’ll have a group run, starting at the starting line, near Gateway Plaza (2411 Crabtree Blvd, Raleigh, NC 27604), at 8am. It’s an out and back course, so run as much (or as little as you want). Water/Gatorade station will be around 2.5 miles from start and finish, and if you go all the way, there will be water and bathrooms at Anderson Point Park (about 7 miles in). The Raleigh Half is back for 2021!

That’s right! After what seemed like the last race pre-COVID on February 22, 2020, the Raleigh Half Marathon will return on Saturday, December 4, 2021! The course will be the exact same as 2020, starting by Gateway Plaza, and being in December, we’ll have some holiday flair! Dress up as Santa, Buddy the Elf, or the Grinch. It’s up to you! Update on the 2021 Raleigh Half Marathon

To those of you asking… Yes, we hope to have the Raleigh Half Marathon in 2021 on the same course as last year. Right now, we are looking at October 2021. In the meantime, we’ll be hosting the Greenway 20k on Saturday, April 3, 2021. This point to point race will share the second half and finish of the Raleigh Half course! “Today, I had the fun of running the course for the final time before race day. It’s been cleaned up since the deluge of rain last Thursday and should be primed for race day!” – Pat Price, Co-Race Director. Notes from the Course: The start provides a gentle downhill for about 1/4 mile before you enter the Crabtree Creek greenway at Raleigh Boulevard. Overall, that first mile is completely flat.
